Representative Bob Robson and his wife, Dawna, reside in Chandler and have two school-age children. They own a successful small business (insurance) and are active in their community. Bob is a Professor of Practice in the School of Criminology and Criminal Justice at Arizona State University . Bob has represented the people of the Southeast Valley at the Arizona Legislature since January 2001 having served as the Speaker Pro Tempore at the House of Representatives, Chairman of the House Rules Committee and Vice Chairman of the Environment Committee, Financial Institutions and Insurance Committee, Judiciary Committee and Appropriations. He also chaired the Ethics Committee for four years. He took two years off due to term limits.
Bob served on the Chandler City Council from 1992-2000 and was elected by his peers as the Vice Mayor. Bob Robson’s desire to develop a sustained and healthy economy led to his membership on the Greater Phoenix Economic Council Strategic Policy Committee. Robson has also served on the Planning and Zoning Commission and on the Neighborhood Preservation and Revitalization Study Committee.
Bob has been deeply involved with Kiwanis for almost 30 years and also has been of service to the Salvation Army, is founding Member of the Chandler Boys & Girls Club, Past President of the Chandler Kiwanis Club, a member of the Chandler Airport Commission, Chairman of the Maricopa County Sports Commission, Chairman of the Arizona Auto Theft Authority and a Maricopa Community College Teacher.
Representative Bob Robson won his election in November 2010 representing District 20. He was appointed as Chairman of Employment and Regulatory Affairs, and is a member of the Commerce and Rules Committees. Bob feels the budget, public safety and education are the top responsibilities of state government. He has a proven record of support for public safety officers. He also feels that investment in the education of our children is the fundamental key for success for the future of our civilization.
Bob has a Master of Arts Degree and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York.
