Additional Information
"Democrat Flavio Bravo is the newest Arizona state senator, winning an appointment to fill a vacancy in a west Phoenix district.
The Maricopa County Board of Supervisors on Monday chose Bravo, who was elected to the House of Representatives last fall, on a 4-0 vote. He was one of three nominees forwarded from the precinct committee members of Legislative District 26.
He took the oath of office in the Senate later Monday afternoon.
Bravo replaces Raquel Terán, who resigned last month to run for Congress. His appointment opens another vacancy in the House for Democrats. The Board of Supervisors ultimately will decide who fills the new vacancy."
