Kiana Sears was appointed by the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors to replace Democrat Senator Eva Burch in District 9 in Mesa. She was chosen out of three Democrat candidates. Sears was a Mesa Public Schools board member for eight years. Her term will end in 2026.
