The Hon. Edward G. “Bunch” Guerrero was born in Globe, Arizona on September 28, 1932. Representative Edward Guerrero, who represented District 2 in the Arizona legislature, will be remembered for his open door policy, impartial representation, and professional competence. Serving in the Arizona legislature nearly two decades, he introduced legislation that improved the lives of people from the working class. From 1974 through 1978 he was the minority floor leader. Living in the Globe-Miami area, Edward Guerrero served on the Globe town council representing ward six and as a Gila County supervisor. His background in construction was the impetus for many public works projects. During the Korean conflict, he served in the U.S. Navy. It is a privilege and honor for the Arizona Association of Chicanos for Higher Education to dedicate the 2004 conference held at Arizona State University on November 12th to his memory.
