Rep. Barbara McGuire is a life-long resident of District 23 which is among the state's fastest growing areas.  She is proud to represent Pinal County and parts of Gila and Maricopa counties.  In addition, she is honored to represent the Salt River Pima, Fort McDowell Yavapai, Ak-Chin, Tohono O'odham, Gila River, and Apache tribes.

Born in Sonora-Ray, Rep. McGuire is a third-generation Arizonan and the daughter of a World War II Navy pilot.  She has been happily married to Jim McGuire for the past 38 years.  She has a son, a daughter and a grandchild.

Rep. McGuire learned the value of hard work while growing up a multi-ethinic mining community.  She graduated high school and attended community college in District 23.

During the last 20 years, Rep. McGuire has been a small business owner.  She also has been the Salvation Army Service Extension Unit Director for 18 years.

She is currently a member of the Casa Grande and Copper Basin chambers of commerce.  She has served as the vice president of the Copper Basin Chamber of Commerce and was honored in 2004 to be named the Copper Basin Citizen of the Year.

She is a Salvation Army Unit Director, member of the NRA, Civil Air Patrol, and the Sheriff's Posse.

Among the most satisfying volunteer experiences for Rep. McGuire during the last decades has been her work with the annual Angel Tree Christmas program and the Summer Youth Camp program.

Rep. McGuire believes government should be efficient, accountable and responsive to the people of Arizona.
